Teaching objectives and contents: This course is designed to familiarize the students with stylistic and syntactic features of foreign economic journals and enrich their vocabulary, especially essential vocabulary for foreign trade and economy. It will deepen their understanding of the background and current situations of international trade and economy as well. After two-semester learning, the students are expected to comprehend and grasp the theme, the main idea and major details of foreign journalistic articles on economy and trade and acquire valuable information from English newspapers and magazines.
Instructional Strategies: In-class reading under teacher’s guidance, combined with after-class extensive reading by students themselves.

Requirements:
1.         Preview and review are necessary outside classroom and follow the teacher attentively and get actively involved in discussions in class.
2.         English is the only language used in class for the instructor and students as well.
